z/OS Facilities

LENGTH OF COURSE:

DESCRIPTION: This course introduces the student to the facilities and components that make up an OS/390 system. The course teaches how these facilities and components interact with one another and with subsystems such as the Job Entry Subsystem.

PREREQUISITES: OS/390 System Overview course or equivalent experience.

INSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES: A combination of Lecture and Case Studies. Case Studies include: SVC Dumps, Trace Records, LOGREC Records, and IOS Subsystem analysis.

AUDIENCE

System Programmers, Operations Technicians, and Application Programmers.
