TCP/IP for Administrators

DESCRIPTION: This course describes the protocols within TCP/IP, procedures required to set up TCP/IP and diagnose problems. Information on TelNet, FTP, and Web services is included. The course begins with an introduction to network transports, with an emphasis on the new and emerging transports. The course covers TCP/IP network protocols, including addressing, and subnet's. Basic server setup is included.

PREREQUISITES: Some experience with computers and networking is a plus, but not required.

INSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES: A combination of Lecture, Exercises, and Labs (when/where available).

AUDIENCE

This course is intended for Administrators and Systems Personnel who will be installing and maintaining TCP/IP systems. This course covers the material contained in the basic TCP/IP course, plus additional material about the operation of TCP, including configuration, commands, protocol contents and network organization.
